If you’re going to be dropping cash on a rangefinder, you’re going to make sure you’re choosing the right one the very first time around. There’s nothing worse than buying a brand new rangefinder just to find out that it isn’t exactly what you expected. I hate to say it, but this is actually a pretty common problem when it comes to hunters.
Most the time these hunters aren’t knowledgeable enough on what to choose or pick one that won’t give them the very best results they need for when they’re out hunting.
In order to stop you guys from buying another rangefinder and then going through the hassle of returning it and getting your money back, I’m listing one of the very same finders I use frequently and am also adding the sight that I currently use as well.
I’ve had my fair share of rangefinders throughout my 20+ years of being involved with archery, but very few of them have come close to what this rangefinder over on Amazon from Vortex Optics has given me. I might even go as far as saying that it is the best rangefinder I’ve ever had.
With tons of testing and technology advances coming out year after year, products that we use to think were good are nothing compared to some of the equipment that is out now, and one of these pieces of equipment out is this rangefinder by Bushnell.
Check out the features Vortex Optics has to offer –
- Ranges up to 1,800 yards
- Great for hunters of all experiences
- Clean, illuminated display
- Adjustable brightness for poorly illuminated areas
If you’re in the market for a rangefinder, then this one from Vortex Optics will definitely meet and exceed all your needs. I can almost guarantee that you will be highly satisfied when it comes to this bad boy!
Anybody who knows me knows that I absolutely love going out, cracking a few cold ones open, and practicing my shot until the sun goes down. With with this comes a problem though. As it gets darker outside, I sometimes notice that my shot gets a little worse, and this is because my vision is limited due to the lack of sunlight.
So, I did some research and found the Trophy Ridge Volt. In addition to all the other features it has, it also helps you see in areas with low light with pins that light up and a bright accent ring that almost glows with its green tint. This feature is what initially caught my attention, but after checking out the other specs of this sight, I’m extremely glad I found it.
Check out the Volt’s features in more detail –
- Five ultra-bright .019” medium horizontal fiber optic pins for ultimate visibility
- Mounting holes for customization
- Align shots with ease and accuracy with the installed bubble level
- Reversible mount design
This sight can be used during any time of the day, but I’ve found that my accuracy when shooting has increased by a lot at any time compared to where it used to be now that I have it. There are limitations when it comes to hunting certain animals in the dark, specifically deer, but that shouldn’t stop you from carrying this sight for at-home practice or if you’re out hunting animals that are allowed to be hunted at night
Having the ability to properly see and determine shot distance is detrimental when it comes to bow hunting, so having good equipment is a must when it comes to how successful your hunting trips will be. There are loopholes you can go through if you’re trying to go the cheaper route when buying equipment, but nothing you do will match a good quality rangefinder or sight.
When hunting, an inch off of where you were aiming at can cost you the game of your life, so make sure you are doing whatever it takes to make your next shot as accurate as possible.
